The Signet 5500 Flow Monitor is equipped with a scaleable 4 to 20 mA output and two relays programmable for high, low, and pulse operation.
Instantaneous flow rate is easy to read on the analog dial, while the backlit LCD is used for calibration, set-up and displaying totalised flow volumes. One of the two totalisers is resettable from the front panel, and can also be reset from a remote location up to 30 m. (100 ft).
The other totaliser is non-resettable and is commonly used to tally consumption, or to permanently record industrial effluent volumes.
The Signet 5090 Sensor-Powered Flow Monitor is the simplest and most economical instrument in the Signet offering.
It features a balanced-spring meter movement that is powered by the AC output of the Signet 515 Paddlewheel Flow Sensor. No additional power source is required.
This unique system is suitable for a wide range of flow rates, and is Factory Mutual (FM) approved for intrinsic safety without the need for barriers. Packages in a ¼ DIN housing with a NEMA 4X/IP65 front panel, the 5090 is the first choice for simple flow monitoring, even in the most demanding industrial environments.

Construction

The flowmeter operates according to the variable area principle. Metering tubes are available in Trogamid-T, suitable for inert media, and polysulfone, suitable for corrosive media (PVC and PVDF tubes on request). Male threads moulded onto the ends of the metering tube allow for easy mounting of unions. O-ring seals at the faces of the tube ensure reliable sealing between metering tube and union and provide stress-free sealing. The floats are available in stainless steel 1.4571, PP or PVDF (depending on flow medium and measuring range). The scale on the metering tube can be suited to the medium and is available e.g. in l/h, m3/h or %. Dovetail sections moulded onto the metering tube allow for easy mounting of adjustable visual flow indicators, limit switches and a continuous readout transmitter.

Construction

The GEMU 840 flowmeter operates according to the part flow principle and consists essentially of three parts: Main flow unit, part flow unit and manual diaphragm valves.

Main flow unit: The material used is PVC-U or PP. The orifice material can be selected as either PVC-U, PP or stainless steel. The body has plain or welded spigots enabling it to be connected by means of unions or flanges.

Part flow unit: Plastic flowmeter which operates according to the variable area principle with integral metering orifice, housing material: polysulfone. The float is made of PVC-U or PP which can also be fitted with a magnet for electrical detection of the flow rate. Dovetail sections moulded onto the metering tube allow for easy mounting of adjustable visual flow indicators (supplied with the flowmeter) and limit switches.

Manual diaphragm valves: The part flow unit can be removed from the main body of the flowmeter without interrupting the main flow by closing the manual by-pass valves.
